Suvendu Memorial Trust, a charitable non- profit organization runs a full-fledged rural Eye Care Centre in the district of Nadia, West Bengal, India. The trust endeavors its best to serve the common and poor people who are rural based and where there is no facility for treatment in regard to eye related diseases. The Eye Care Wing has been functioning since 14.08.2002 and it has developed its infrastructure by the support of man organizations, individuals and Banks. All donors in India are eligible for income tax exemptions u/s 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961. The trust has
been registered u/s 12A of Income Tax Act, 1961 as a Charitable Trust. The Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue has also approved Child Blindness Project for screening of students including drop outs to see the status of the vision of the children and for that Rs. 1.91 Crore has been approved for childhood blindness where if someone donates it will attract 100% exemption of income tax. The Registration got lapsed as no donation could be received. The trust has also been registered under FCRA 1976 which has enabled them to accept donation from foreign based persons or NRI people.
